Closed Guard Attack - Kimura, Weak Muscle Groups Theory

June 01, 2010 by admin

Keith Owen discusses the weak muscle group theory as applied to finishing a kimura. When finishing a kimura against a strong opponent, don't focus on applying force on your opponent's strong arm muscles. Instead, focus on his weak shoulder muscles by bringing your elbow down, which results in bending his arm. Keith goes on to discuss this theory as applied to everything in jiujitsu. Don't pit strong muscle against strong muscle. Focus on the weak muscle groups (if available).
