Mount Escape - Basic, Fundamental Upa Escape

May 25, 2010 by admin

Zed Chierighini demonstrates the upa escape from the mount. Zed starts out by discussing the proper posture when mountd: legs flat on the ground (no space for your opponent to put his foot under), elbows on the ground (to prevent your opponent from riding up). Trap your opponent's arm against your chest. Zed then describes a critical detail when you place your head directly below your opponent's head. Then you bridge and roll over your shoulder at a 45 degree angle to complete the escape.
