Mark Plavcan demonstrates an attack from side control where you end up with an arm triangle (head-and-arm choke) from the north-south position. First, Mark describes how to clear your opponent's arm against your hips by switching your hips into a semi-"reverse kesa gatame" position and keeping your hips heavy and your leg flat against the floor. Then, slide your knee back into traditional side control position, while clearing your opponent's arm on your hips. Reach your arm over his head in an overclasp position and grab your own thigh. Switch your hips again to reverse kesa gatame, making sure to keep your opponent's arm off your hip. Then scoot backwards into north-south.
