Side Control Attack - Step Over Head to Armlock (Ude Gatame)

May 29, 2010 by admin

JJ Machado demonstrates an armlock (ude gatame) from side control. In this situation, your opponent goes against jiujitsu law and wraps his arms around you from the bottom. From here, you switch your base into a kesa gatame position, put your hand on your head (to prevent your opponent from pulling out his arm), and clear your opponent's head so it's easier for you to step over his head. Then straighten out his arm for the finish.
