Side Control Bottom - Escape by Bridging and Getting to Knees

June 09, 2010 by admin

Marcelo Garcia demonstrates an escape from side control bottom by bridging and getting to your knees. Get your arms framed underneath your opponent. Clasp your hands together to get more leverage and create space in-between yourself and your opponent so you can get an underhook. Make sure your underhook reaches your opponent's far shoulder or lat muscle so your opponent can't control your underhooked arm. Bridge by bringing your heels to your butt and pushing with your underhook. Then get to your knees.
